Collector Wind Farm Forum

A message from the appointed community representatives
(September 2014)

The appointed community representatives of the Collector Wind Farm Forum have prepared this newsletter to explain the roles and functions of the Forum to the residents of Collector and the surrounding community.

The Collector Wind Farm Forum was established by the proponent in line with the Draft NSW Planning Guidelines Wind Farms, December 2011, and now operates under the NSW Community Consultative Committee Guidelines Nov 2016.

Under these guidelines, the independent Chair of the Forum is appointed by the Department of Planning & Environment from a selected panel of CCC Chairs.  The Chair is responsible for the selection of local community/stakeholder members, with remaining membership from the Upper Lachlan Council and proponent representatives.

The guidelines set out the following criteria for community representatives:

  • Be current residents or landowners within the affected local government area/s;

  • Demonstrate involvement in local community groups and / or activities;

  • Have knowledge and awareness of the project and related issues of concern to the local community;

  • Be able to represent and communicate the interests of the affected local community; and

  • Be willing to adhere to the committee's code of conduct.

The project has been approved by the appropriate authority and the decision to proceed with its construction lies largely with the proponent.  If the development does proceed, we want the community to be in the best position to benefit.

We urge you to approach us with your ideas, questions or concerns for feedback to the

Collector Wind Farm Forum.
